This is who we had in mind that would be our target audience. We took 2 films that are coming of age and the age of people who rated it.
I found that the more people of a certain gender coming to watch the film was dependant on the gender of the main character/s. My research shows that there were more male viewers of Superbad, than there were for Easy-A. I based my target audience on girls by primarily using an actress. My film was going to be distributed mainly in the UK so most of my target audience would be from the UK. They will be teenagers because some themes are relatable and coming of age films highlight most/some teenagers life's so they feel they can relate. They will most probably come from a middle to working class background because the minor themes included in the narrative, like being poor, they will not be able to relate to them. With it also being produced and distributed by a smaller company, they will presume it isn't going to be as good as the blockbusters which is debatable dependant on genre. On the other hand, some others from different classes might enjoy watching these types of films.
